People in their Spaces

During the making of my boxing film, I realized how much I liked telling the story of regular people. I also realized how much the spaces where people work, train, cook, or create are critical to them being successful. I decided to start a series where I could tell people’s stories through one still image. I photographed people looking at my camera to put the attention on them as the main subject and then used their background environment to tell a story of the work they do. This is an ongoing series.
